The parents of Audrey Tautou who was both dentists and teacher, were aware of and supported their daughter's enthusiasm for acting and drama on an early stage. This support is more than enough for Audrey to combat her ambition to be a primatologist. The early success of her career and the rapid growth in popularity was a sign of her development as an actor. After her graduation in 1998, she took part in the French program for scouting talent on TV called Jeunes Premiers which was sponsored by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors prior to launching her acting career in earnest. Tautou attended church and the Institut Catholique de Paris during her early years, but now dissociates herself from the aforementioned societal influences. Alongside her acting profession, she has was also interested in modeling. The model was in the commercials for L'Oreal Mont Blanc, Chanel and was dubbed "The Chanel Muse". Also, she has an intense passion for photography. She recently exhibited her work for the Arles Festival under the title Superficial. Her work focuses on celebrity and fame. The exhibition also includes a series self-portraits and a particular focus on the media that has closely scrutinized Tautou following her rapid popularity following Amelie. Audrey Tautou became a star and was recognized internationally for her first role in Amelie Poulain in Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie. Later, in the same year, she appeared in British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things as well as Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long dimanche de fiancailles.
