Adams began her career as a year old in Castle Rock Colorado. The early 1990s were when Adams began dancing professionally for Boulder's Dinner Theatre as well as the Country Dinner Playhouse. In the following year, in Minnesota in a small local theatre she was chosen to be a part of a mock film documentary on beauty pageants called Drop Dead Gorgeous. Following her successful screen debut with the role of an obnoxious but friendly contestant, Janet relocating into Los Angeles where she began an acting career professionally. Through the 1960s, she appeared in popular films such as Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho as well as Living It Up.
